Audience’s Rights Reform #17: Optional purchases for quality-of-life reasons
Reform 17: Optional purchases for QoL reasons
These edits would serve to maximize optional user agency. Players would choose to pay for convenience, not advantage.
Example A: Pokémon GO
The idea for this category came from the only microtransaction-containing video game I am familiar with. Ideally, players would be able to buy unlimited Pokémon and item storage space, albeit at a high price. ($100? $1,000? I’m sure Scopely is better at pricing than I am!) Additional Egg slots, Field Research slots, Master Balls, and Bottle Caps should also be purchasable.
